Im pretty new to the game of EVE. I started in the Duripant system of Gallente, and was pretty amazed how fast I ran into some pvp compared to other games. On my 2nd time logging in a veteran player "Koshka Narkotikov" messaged me demanding I participate in their 'Newbie Fight Club'. This sounded pretty shady but its a videogame so I figured what the hell and said yes. They gave me a Frigate-class ship and had me duel another player near a Space Station, I won and they sent me hundreds of thousands of I.S.K. and I was feeling pretty good about this game. Thats when the troubles started, though; the next time I logged in they demanded I fight again and that time I lost to another newbie who was better than me at Combat. This got them angry and they started sending me mails calling me a "big ol homo" (from "Hibbie") and "a f*cker, IMO" (from "Aapir"). I mailed them back saying Im not fighting for people who treat their members in such a way, and immediately went to leave the system. After 2 stargate jumps (this is still in High Security Space), they killed my ship and my Capsuleer Pod, and I respawned in Duripant (my starting system). They told me they'd keep killing me if I tried to leave again, and that the only way out of Space Violence is "in a wreck". Is there anything I can do about this? I realize E.V.E. is primarily a Player Vs. Player game, but this is extreme. |

Eventually they left me alone but they said that if i could surprise the leader of their gang, someone called bequietandtrimyourbeard or something like, they would give me a free pass. i culdnt find him after a long time trying, but i think they eventually got bored and left me alone. i guess i wasnt fun enuff to stay in their Space Violence club.
Im not sure how to make them get bored, they seem to be having plenty of fun with this. |

Malcolm Shinhwa wrote:I can't tell, probably haven't had enough rum yet, but is this a thing? Or some inside joke? OP has no killboard, so I guess probably joke. Just in case it isn't a joke:Duripant is a hisec system. Buy a shuttle and go wherever you want in hisec so long as you're not autopiloting. Move your med clone to some other station. Set the big meanies to -10 standing so they stand out in local. Watch local. If ye be miner, get in a Procurer. If ye be mission runner, watch for combat probes; go back to station when you see them. Go to youtube and watch a video on making insta undocks and redock bookmarks. This one seems nice. Undock and redock entirely unmolested.
Thank you, I'm doing this after I get home from work. However, my main problem is that they seem to be able to figure out which system I am in very quickly. Im not sure if there is some quick way they do that, or if they are really scouring the whole game for people who left Newbie Fight Club. |

Can you point me to this thread? I didnt know there was an official channel for these sorts of requests. That might explain the hostile response ive been getting ingame. |

Can I report them to the Game Moderators if they make fun of me for being straight? I am not sure if that falls under sexual harassment/bigotry since it's the opposite of Homophobia. They keep telling me things like "Straights get straight out of EVE". |
